Ofelia Bio

I am a thirty-something Latina, born in the Caribbean. When my mom left the island, she brought us to the Bronx and after that, New Jersey. Mom has taught me that if something bothers you, try to fix it before complaining. My father taught me that great literature expands the horizon.

Friends or family often come to me with questions about products, events, restaurants or how to save money. I share my experiences and pitch in with research, as needed. I spend time cooking, traveling, and trying different fitness regimes such as yoga, dancing and walking.

I am a single mother to a teenage daughter, who finds it annoying when I use the word IRK or remind her to think “three steps ahead”.

I read often, write occasionally and volunteer regularly.
